On the business side: I stopped writing for free in 2006. I can’t tell from your reply whether you wanted to copy and paste the entire post or just link to it. If it’s a link, by all means, have at it. But please do not copy and paste it in its entirety until/unless we contractually agree on writer rates. Of course you are legally welcome to follow fair use copyrighting rules to copy about four to five sentences, then link. Totally cool with that as well.

On the reader side: On a separate note, that’s unfortunate that you can relate to my post. It’s unfortunate that anyone could relate to this blog. We shouldn’t all have this in common. No one should have to deal with the supervisor that I did, who to this day I’m sure is about as oblivious as she was when I left. My guess is she’s still salivating over black men’s asses and blasting hip-hop music — without ever listening to the kind of lyrics that describe her behavior. A full year later, I have absolutely no regrets about quitting that job. I thought I’d regret telling my truth about why I left. But now my only regret is not writing it sooner to let sistas know we have got to stop trying to appease people who have internal racist issues they have to work out on their own time, not ours!
