You are missing my point. Women have been putting themselves on for decades in hip hop and are still not being recognized in a gallery like this. Black women speak up as much if not more than black men about equality and justice, but male emcees are too often acknowledged for it solely. And then J. Cole came out with a song not about the cause but reprimanding a black woman for being a know-it-all. It has a “stay in your place” vibe that entirely too many men do. With all his actions you speak of, THAT should have been his song, not NoName.
