When I turned 30, I asked my older brother “Isn’t it weird that I’m 30 now?” He said, “No, your body just finally caught up with your mind. Your brain has always been too old for your body. Maybe they’ll catch up now.” I cracked up. He was dead-on because I spent the whole time in Maui thinking, “I finally feel like me. I hit 30 and just settled into my womanhood in a different way than my 20s.” I’m not sure if 40 will make me think, “Meh, 30s,” but at 38, I really feel like I know who I am.
