When I think of the phrase, I think Trinitarians (Chicago church, Barack Obama was a member). Their theme is “unashamedly black, unapologetically Christian” though. It doesn’t bother me. Just means black folks got good and tired of apologizing for being different, and I’m here for it same way I am to see black business owners wearing hoodies with “Minding my black-owned business.” (Clearly I don’t mind “black girl magic” or “black girls rock” for similar reasons.)
