True! Somebody made a flirtatious comment to me in person today that clearly hinted at me hugging him, and I laughed it off. COVID-19 is blocking — big time. Online though? I could’ve sent a Bitmoji of a “hug” and it would’ve been so appropriate.

Now add in actual dating sites: Yeah, it definitely used to be cliche. When I did it two years ago, I was talking to a married friend. I told him I’d tapped out on the serial dates, and he looked off into a faraway place and said, “Man, I would have so much fun doing that. I’d be on those sites all the time.” I thought he was kidding at first, but his facial expression was like he was truly missing out on something most single people would rather get to the end goal of. The grass is always greener on the other side, I guess.
