This was an odd story for me. The potato one, I understood. This one sounded like Maggie didn’t love herself enough to move on. Following anybody around at every single party, seeing them with a zillion other people and still professing your love sounds like … a lot. Then here he comes after he’s exhausted all avenues to suddenly like her. And that happens. Personally I’m reading the ending a different way — these two weren’t meet to be because they were both wasting time.
