This is the most out-of-touch, privileged comment I’ll read today. Black folks pay attention to slaveowners and killers being put on money, statues, street signs and calendar dates all day. We literally have a history of changing history. If we didn’t, we’d have no reason to celebrate the Fourth of July. We’d just say, “C’mon, folks, it’s history. Let’s not worry about America before it found its freedom — well, slaves were still being beaten, tortured and raped, but let’s not get into petty details.” We have the opportunity to improve every single day. I have absolutely no idea why in the world you were on my Medium page or followed me. We clearly have nothing in common.
