This is a strange one. I have repeatedly run into white women (some, not all) who have befriended black men easily (usually in the interest of dating them) but who CONSTANTLY battle with black women. It will never not be frustrating to me because there is already a common bond when it comes to sexism. One of the most horribly biased and entitled women I know who comes to mind loves to talk about reading Ta-Nehisi Coates but has been tense around every black woman (me included) that she encountered. It is like she is reading the words but cannot seem to connect them to the Black Girl Coates of the world. The idea of racism AND sexism is just information overload.
