This is a belief that it seems like only white people have (or choose to believe). Black people I knew were already asking him to run in the last election before Hillary and Bernie took over, and Joe opted out due to family sickness. He didn’t just miraculously get all these supporters. He just needed to get to the states where he knew there were larger African-American populations. He repeatedly said time after time how significant the black vote is. The flood of content that was asking him to run in the last election — plus his 2008 to 2016 resume — more than showed he already had representation. Bernie Bros are still all over social media and voting for the candidate they like. And it’s insulting to believe we’re all just voting for who someone else voted.
