The one downside I’ve found for being the Punctuality Police (like my father and grandfather) is I grow super impatient with procrastinators and people who do everything late. My mother has improved over the years, but she has been late to everything but work for my entire 37 years. Ironically, after she retired, she’s now on time quite a bit. She found out that working with someone who was ALWAYS late to everything (as in showing up to work almost two hours late) made her finally see how the other side lives. And with that, she completely evaluated her views on time. Still though, I do kinda sorta wish I was less grumpy about people who were so easygoing with time. Maybe in time, I’ll do the reverse like my mom. Stop working in my 60s and suddenly stop wearing a watch. *pause* I doubt it.
