One of my Girl Scout leaders always celebrated Kwanzaa, and I was curious about it but never curious enough to find out all about it. I celebrate Juneteeth instead of the Fourth of July every year for about the past five or six years. Still no excuse for why I never bothered to look it up, even though my mother has this ginormous Kwanzaa candle for all the celebration days. (She doesn’t celebrate it either. She just really wanted to paint the big candle decor.) Anyway, this is making me think 2020 should be the year where I do both.
