Normally I have these long-winded responses to post replies to add on. But quite frankly, your comment could replace my whole post and be a solid read. Needless to say, I agree with everything you just said — minus the part about his intention. I think what he wanted her to do was choose her words much wiser considering the historical significance of who she was talking to (that far exceeds Denzel’s lifetime). If it sat with her all this time, she’s feeling guilty about it still. And that speaks volumes.
