I was sensitive about it in the early days, but I'm 15 years in (and one year I went vegan). Nothing can phase me or even get to me at this point. Everybody who knows me knows I'm not only vegetarian, but if you talk extra reckless, I'll harass you until you go to a vegetarian restaurant with me. I got my godsister to go. She took photographs of EVERYTHING and admitted she enjoyed all of it.

I knew ONE African-American vegetarian when I first started out and plenty of white people and a few Asians. So it was a weird start for me still trying to eat soul food. Now? I see black vegans and black vegetarians all the time.
