I read this without noticing the Medium tag, so by the time I got to the “trans man” part I was confused. Then I re-read it from the top again and went, “Oh, well, this is even more interesting now.” I’m curious about whether other people view you as “a white man” when they see you though. My cousin, who wears all men’s attire from top to bottom with a hairstyle that is easily unisex, just can’t hide the boobs. Her voice is different when I’ve heard her speak to others (deeper, sorta), but around me, I hear the same girlie high voice I grew up babysitting. I’m curious about whether your perception of passing actually looks that way to strangers. Do you think it does?
