I read the apology. I'm not supposed to have to "put it into context" nor create translations that read her mind. She had an open book text with the journalist GIVING her the answer. She was both dismissive in her response and started talking about who were the "real heroines," never at any point making it clear that she was referring to Latina men versus Latino women.
She made it a competition and didn't need to, and she would've lost that same competition had she paid attention to how black men outnumbered Latina women in voting for Biden, so the "man" part was inaccurate, too. As said, it sounds like a PR move. I stand by my points. I'm still not convinced it was a mistake. Feels like clean-up. Kerry Washington can play Olivia Pope, but in real life, she cannot clean this one up.
