I don’t know about that. I’ll get a flood of invites completely out of nowhere. Sometimes it’s related to being a “top-rated freelancer” and other times it’s related to what you write. They do features for clients every now and then and tell clients who got top ratings in ____________. There definitely are ways to climb that ladder faster. I just spent so many years working in Corporate America and treating it like a side job. This is the first year I’ve consistently been in that ranking and done it full time.

But with that said, I cut out LinkedIn (no use for it since I don’t want to work in Corporate America again), Facebook (bunch of passive aggressive and subliminal messages, felt too much like high school), Instagram (don’t post anything and am just on there for the song battles). I live on Twitter and Pinterest because they are subject-based accounts and I can choose exactly what I want to follow along with. So yeah, I get it. Facebook was by far the most draining for me.
