I did this with my great great aunt. She lived to be 100. (My grandfather lived to be 95. On both sides of my family, we clearly like to hang around.) Boy, that was an experience. Some relatives loved finding out how she met her husband. Others were hung up on her scooping him from someone else, and her son felt this real-life story was too salacious. Meanwhile she wanted to print out color copies (with all photos) to send out to all relatives and had a mailing list for me. Good lord, I’m hoping you didn’t turn into Kinko’s with your story because I sure did. And my grandfather’s response: “Look how juicy this story is. Might as well be a tabloid!”
