Fascinating. Well, I learned something new today (with 13 minutes left in Thursday). I saw the comments mentioning a treaty but wasn’t quite clear on that. Well, I’m happy for you because 30 percent is a pretty big dent in income for anything. Hell, I still cringe when Upwork takes 20 percent off the first $500 of new freelance clients. I’m not all that impressed when it cuts down to 10 percent after the first $500, so imagining 30 percent no matter what is — painful. Sheesh! I do ponder on how often clients from the U.S. hire clients outside of the U.S. to do work. It sounds like it’d be a bigger benefit for non-U.S. writers to work for U.S. clients. They get to skip the taxes. But do you have to pay Canadian taxes for your U.S. work, or only for work you do from Canadian businesses?
