All I can say for sure is that weight training worked wonders for me. I take dance classes and pilates and yoga all the time over the years. I lose a couple of pounds here and there. But I took weight training for one semester in college and dropped from a size 14 to a size 6–8 within a couple of months. My parents, brother and a friend asked me was I sick. I dropped it so fast that they were concerned at first. That never happens with cardio. It’s more of a yo-yo. With that said though, I started making sure I only attended yoga and pilates classes that incorporated strength spots (ex. planks, resistance, etc.) I’ll never ever give up dance classes, but even I know that it just doesn’t shred weight the same — regardless of what stunning Teyana Taylor says.
